Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our pharmacy team in Roanoke. This role supports the daily operations of the pharmacy by providing clerical, administrative, and customer service support to ensure smooth communication across departments and a professional, efficient work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer and route phone calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Greet and assist internal and external personnel with courteous and helpful service.
  • Monitor and respond to department emails and phone inquiries accurately.
  • Process and reconcile returned medication credits from partner facilities.
  • Assist with pharmacy technician support functions (non-technical), such as medication return handling and pharmacy supply organization.
  • Support new employee onboarding tasks, including issuing ID badges.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and ensure work areas are properly stocked.
  • Assist in organizing internal staff and facility engagement events.
  • Help maintain workspace cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety and organizational protocols.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned based on pharmacy needs.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy. Will have to Obtain eventually. 
  • Preferred: Prior experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or similar administrative setting.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and capable of handling confidential information.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally (supplies, small packages).
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
