Position Summary

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, cleaned, assembled, packaged, sterilized, stored, and distributed . Your work ensures patient safety and supports efficient surgical operations. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Education & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile processing or instrument processing required or equivelant experience.

What You’ll Do

In this essential role, you will:

• Decontaminate, sterilize, assemble, wrap, and prepare surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Follow strict Standard Precautions in all decontamination and sterilization areas
• Monitor biological and chemical solutions for quality assurance
• Maintain inventory levels across sterile processing, procedure rooms, and storage areas
• Inspect and verify equipment functionality; report or remove defective items
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with infection control standards
• Assist in preparing and resetting procedure rooms throughout the day
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members
• Support departmental policies, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives

• Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills (Windows operating system)
• Strong reading, writing, math, and reasoning skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards

Physical Requirements

This role requires an active, hands-on approach:

• Standing, walking, reaching, and using hands frequently
• Occasional sitting and kneeling
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Visual abilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception
