Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and identify areas for cost optimization or revenue growth.
  • Work closely with department managers to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports, highlighting key drivers and risks.
  • Ensure all accounts are accurately reconciled to the GL and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations; validate and analyze monthly reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review budget variances, identify root causes, and provide insight for management reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages and presentations; contribute actively to financial review discussions.
  • Draft clear, concise written commentary to explain monthly performance results.
  • Manage the annual budget process, including preparation of all related schedules and deliverables.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic projects, investments, and business cases.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Build and support pricing, margin analysis, and product profitability reviews.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, accounting, and operations teams to ensure data integrity and alignment.
  • Mentor finance team members, and promote best practices in analysis and reporting.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze key financial metrics and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement throughout the organization.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including profitability, cost, and performance analysis, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for department managers and senior leadership.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor financial and operational performance.
  • Support the Finance team as needed in month end close.
Strategic Decision Support:
  • Collaborate with department managers to understand financial drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize revenue growth, cost efficiency, and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate business initiatives, including cost-benefit analyses and return-on-investment (ROI) studies.
  • Assist in the annual operating plan, providing insights and accurate information to business units as well as take ownership of key deliverables such as revenue budgeting, and specified business unit operating costs.
Data Management and Process Improvement:
  • Enhance financial planning tools, systems, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and standardization in reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in financial systems and reporting tools.

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role working 2 - 3 days per week in the office
This position reports directly to the CFO.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 per year. The salary will reflect your experience, skills and perspective you bring to the role. Throughout the interview process we take a thoughtful and transparent approach to compensation, balancing market data, internal equity and the impact that you’ll have on our business

Skills and Experience:
  • A university degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation is preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in finance analysis, corporate finance of a related financial role - CPG experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas: INDEX-MATCH and array formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, LOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc)
  • Experience with ERP systems, SQL and BI tools.
  • Knowledge of financial statements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships across teams.
