Job Description

You will step into a Process Engineer role focused on wastewater systems within a food manufacturing environment. You will take ownership of wastewater treatment operations, ensuring environmental compliance, system reliability, and cost-effective performance across the facility.

What You Will Do
You will own and optimise onsite wastewater treatment systems, including primary, secondary, and tertiary processes where applicable.

You will monitor and control key parameters such as pH, COD, BOD, TSS, and flow rates to ensure discharge meets all regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with operations and sanitation teams to manage effluent loads and minimise process variability.

You will troubleshoot treatment issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions.

You will drive improvements in chemical usage, sludge handling, and overall system efficiency to reduce operating costs.

You will support upgrades, expansions, and capital projects related to wastewater infrastructure.

You will develop and standardise operating procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across shifts.

You will maintain accurate reporting and documentation for environmental audits and regulatory bodies.

You will use data and trend analysis to proactively identify risks and opportunities for optimisation.

What You Will Bring
You will have experience as a Process or Environmental Engineer within food manufacturing.

You will have strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, including biological systems, DAF, aeration, and sludge management.

You will understand environmental regulations and discharge compliance requirements.

You will have experience working with utilities, pumps, filtration, and chemical dosing systems.

You will bring a data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

You will be comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and EHS teams.

You will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and focused on maintaining compliance while improving efficiency.
