As Manager of Production Control Operations, you will lead efforts to receive, store, and supply materials efficiently, maintaining inventory accuracy to support lean manufacturing, uninterrupted production, and audit compliance. This role demands a deep understanding of material flow, supply chain principles, and ERP systems. You will manage a team of associate managers, supervisors, and material handling associates while collaborating cross-functionally with IT, Logistics, Material Planning, Inventory Control, Finance, Quality, and Facilities to resolve complex challenges and system constraints affecting productivity. Production Control is vital to Tesla's manufacturing expansion. We are seeking a disciplined leader to optimize material handling with rigor, ensuring availability for daily production volumes while prioritizing safety and efficiency.
What You'll Do Ensure material integrity across all internal flows, from receiving dock to point of use, including warehouses, supermarkets, and sequencing/kitting cellsIdentify inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and lead permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurrenceCoordinate and manage daily activities of the Material Handling Team to sustain lean, safe operations in a 24/7 environmentBuild a credible, approachable Material Handling Team equipped to deliver data- and process-driven solutions for root cause corrective actions (RCCA)Drive continuous, simplified process and system improvements for robust material flow, minimal shortages, and high accuracy in Tesla's operational systemsCollaborate with Production Control, Material Planning, Logistics, Production, and Quality teams to optimize lean material flow at Austin Giga Factory, including 3PLs, subcontractors, and in-transit materialsOversee inventory adjustments, transactions, corrections, and system access protocols to prevent production downtimes
What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience5+ years related manufacturing experience in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial environmentExperience with process improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency and throughputAbility to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlinesIn-depth understanding of mechanical and standardized processesA powerful sense of urgency and commitment to deliver material on timeExcellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
