Job Description

Job Title: Mail Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Type: Contract
Compensation: $52.50 - $65.00 per hour
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: 40.0 hours/week
Security Clearance: Public Trust

Responsibilities

  • Support design, configuration, integration, testing, release, maintenance, and support of Microsoft O365 Cloud, Exchange, Intune with Apple Business Manager, Azure, Office Suite, Outlook applications, One Drive for Business, and Microsoft Security & Compliance.
  • Collaborate with Federal and Contractor Service Desk, Incident Management Center, Desktop Engineering, Executive Help Engineering, Application Hosting, and Infrastructure Engineering teams to ensure excellent customer service, troubleshooting, resolution, restoration, provisioning, and availability of Mail and MDM services.
  • Manage incident requests, restorations based on urgency, impact, and priority, including assessment, assignment, queue monitoring, resolution, and closure.
  • Coordinate change and release activities for Mail and MDM services, including design, architecture, configuration, staffing, scheduling, impact analysis, approvals, communications, testing, implementation, monitoring, and operations.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of role-based access, permissions, communications, distribution groups, and functionality requests.
  • Follow incident, event, problem, configuration, and change management protocols to troubleshoot and restore services caused by outages and defects.
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and implement workarounds and resolutions in collaboration with IT teams and third-party vendors.
  • Assess security vulnerabilities and incidents, implement patches, upgrades, and email blocking measures to mitigate threats and risks.
  • Monitor performance, access, licensing, and capacity, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
  • Create, update, and maintain design documents, architectures, data profiles, licenses, SOPs, work instructions, and knowledge articles.
  • Manage daily operations, deliverables, stakeholder expectations, risk management, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting Enterprise Messaging Services.
  • Certified in Microsoft O365 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in supporting and managing Microsoft O365 Cloud, Exchange, Intune, Apple Business Manager, Azure, and related applications.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with technical teams and clients, maintaining effective customer relationships.
  • High cohesiveness as a team member and capability to serve as a change agent and consultant.
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship and have resided in the US for at least 3 years.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
