A Day in the Life

This position is remote to enhance our competitive edge and expand our cross-functional collaboration efforts. This role will require travel (up to 25% of the time) to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

We are seeking a Strategic Convention Specialist to join our this role you will be an individual contributor supporting the planning and execution of conventions and events working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver seamless compliant and effective programs. This position requires strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Support the planning and execution of conventions exhibits and related events in alignment with business and marketing objectives
  • Partner with marketing communications and sales teams to support event planning activities and ensure alignment with overall goals
  • Act as a key point of contact for assigned business partners providing guidance on convention processes and requirements
  • Coordinate booth logistics including space selection exhibitor services shipping setup/dismantle and on-site execution
  • Support booth staffing coordination including tracking requirements and confirming participation
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services
  • Track budgets and expenses ensuring activities remain within approved financial guidelines
  • Support the coordination of sponsored programs and meetings held in conjunction with conventions
  • Ensure all convention activities comply with corporate policies industry guidelines (e.g. AdvaMed) and association requirements
  • Assist with post-event reporting including basic metrics feedback collection and documentation of outcomes
  • Maintain knowledge of Medtronic products business strategies and industry trends to continuously enhance event effectiveness and exhibit design.
  • Support multiple conventions concurrently at various stages of planning and execution

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree plus 2-4 years experience in convention/meeting planning or project management

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong planning organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Effective meeting facilitation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Budget tracking and financial coordination
  • Vendor coordination and relationship management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail with an eye for layout and exhibit design

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$62400.00 - $93600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20 hours per week: Health Dental and vision insurance Health Savings Account Healthcare Flexible Spending Account Life insurance Long-term disability leave Dependent daycare spending account Tuition assistance/reimbursement and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
